Sierra Leonean Forward Samuel Gandi Shines in Moldova with FC Politehnica Iasi

Rising Sierra Leonean football star, Samuel Gandi, has made an immediate impact for Moldovan side FC Politehnica Iasi, netting two league goals in just six appearances this season.

Gandi, affectionately known as "Amaki," opened his scoring account on his debut for Politehnica against Dacia Buiucani on Saturday, July 12, 2025. He followed up with his second goal on Sunday, August 17, 2025, in a match against Milsami.

The promising forward officially signed a long-term contract with the Moldovan club in early July, having previously played for Old Edwardians.

Gandi’s move to Europe comes on the heels of a stellar performance at the recently concluded U-20 WAFU tournament in Egypt, where he was a pivotal player for the "Shooting Star" team. 

His exceptional displays throughout the competition garnered significant attention from scouts across Europe and beyond, ultimately leading to his transfer to FC Politehnica Iasi.
