SLFA Appoints U-17 Women’s National Technical Team Ahead of World Cup Qualifiers

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has formally announced the appointment of a new technical leadership team for the U-17 Women’s National Team. This strategic move marks a significant step in the nation’s preparations for the upcoming FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualification campaign.
Confirmed by the SLFA Technical Committee on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, these appointments underscore the Association’s dedicated focus on the advancement and professionalization of youth women’s football within Sierra Leone.
The squad is scheduled to compete in a pivotal two-legged qualifying series against Ivory Coast this April. The newly commissioned technical staff is tasked with overseeing the rigorous preparation and tactical development required for this high-stakes international competition.
The technical staff is led by Head Coach Fatmata Turay, supported by Assistant Coach Mohamed Bah. The specialized support team includes Tejan L. Fornah as Goalkeeper Coach, Mariatu Jende Koroma as Welfare Officer, Fatmata Kallon as Team Medic, and Jestina Sowa as Media Officer.
In accordance with SLFA regulatory frameworks, all appointments are effective immediately.
The Association extends its congratulations to the new appointees and invites the public to offer their full support to the U-17 Women’s National Team as they represent Sierra Leone on the continental stage.
As training intensifies, the primary objective remains securing a successful qualification and establishing a competitive presence for Sierra Leonean women’s football internationally.
