SLFA Presents New Men’s Premier League Board to Corporate Partner Leone Rock Metal Group

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) officially presented its newly constituted Men’s Premier League Board to Leone Rock Metal Group during a courtesy visit by SLFA President Babadi Kamara on Thursday, October 23. The visit highlighted the importance of strong corporate partnerships in advancing the development and sustainability of football in Sierra Leone.

President Kamara was accompanied by SLFA Acting General Secretary Mohammed Benson Bawoh during the presentation. The delegation was warmly received by Leone Rock’s Chief Technical Officer, Salim Sillah, who expressed delight at the visit and reaffirmed the company’s steadfast commitment to supporting national football initiatives.

Leone Rock Metal Group has been a key supporter of the Men’s Premier League, contributing significantly to its revival and sustainability. The company sponsored the 2023/24 season with $80,000 and increased its support to $150,000 for the recently concluded 2024/25 season. Kamara commended the company’s exemplary partnership, emphasizing that such collaborations are essential to strengthening the football ecosystem.

In his remarks, Kamara highlighted the broader social impact of corporate investment in football. He stated, “Leone Rock continues to thrive as a successful company because there is peace and stability in the country a peace that football helps to sustain. Football remains one of the strongest unifying forces in any nation, and without it, many young boys and girls who are now playing the game could easily be drawn into drugs or even forced into unwanted and unplanned migration.”

Kamara added that the new Men’s Premier League Board would work closely with local and international stakeholders to enhance the league’s organization, visibility, and competitiveness. He emphasized that this initiative, combined with strong corporate backing, would help foster a sustainable and professional football environment for players, clubs, and fans.
