SLFA President Babadi Kamara Embarks on Landmark International Tour

Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) President, Babadi Kamara, is set to make his inaugural international foray as the nation's football chief, departing Freetown this evening for a pivotal two-leg assignment.

Accompanied by Acting General Secretary, Mohamed Benson Bawoh, President Kamara's journey begins in Kampala, Uganda, where he will participate in the CAF IMPACT Strategic Roundtable Programme on Sunday, August 24, 2025. 

This crucial roundtable aims to solidify the implementation of the new CAF IMPACT regulations, a cornerstone initiative designed to bolster governance, infrastructure, and the effective utilization of development funds allocated by CAF to its Member Associations. 

Following the roundtable, Mr. Bawoh will return to Freetown, while President Kamara continues his extensive international engagements.

While in Uganda, the SLFA President will also take the opportunity to witness the Semi-Final and 3rd Place matches of the ongoing TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN 2024), gaining valuable insights into the continent's competitive landscape, before heading to Nairobi, Kenya.

Nairobi awaits on Saturday, August 30, 2025, where President Kamara is slated to join CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe and a distinguished assembly of CAF Member Association Presidents. 

This high-level strategic meeting, coinciding with the CHAN Tournament final, promises comprehensive discussions on vital issues shaping the future of African football. Key topics on the agenda include:

• Initiatives fostering financial sustainability for CAF's 54 Member Associations and six Zonal Unions.

• The critical upgrading and construction of stadiums and other essential football infrastructure across the continent.

• Strategies to elevate African football's global competitiveness and attain world-class status.

President Kamara's active participation in both the Kampala Roundtable and the Nairobi meeting underscores a significant turning point for Sierra Leone's football leadership. 

It signals the nation's resolute commitment to playing an influential role in steering the future trajectory of African football under CAF's progressive new development agenda.
