SLPP’s Tunis Honoured at ECOWAS Parliament Silver Jubilee

Dr. Tunis was recognized with a prestigious award during the 25th Anniversary Commemoration of the ECOWAS Parliament, held at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre.


The award celebrates his remarkable contributions to parliamentary representation, regional integration, and people-centered governance within the ECOWAS Community.


Over the years, Dr. Tunis has played a pivotal role in promoting dialogue and collaboration among member states, reinforcing the Parliament’s mission to advance peace, stability, and sustainable development across West Africa.



Speaking on the recognition, Dr. Tunis said: “This recognition is a testament to the collective efforts of all who believe in the power of regional cooperation. As we mark 25 years of ECOWAS Parliament, we must continue to strengthen partnerships and deliver on our shared vision for a united and prosperous region.”


The Silver Jubilee celebration brought together distinguished leaders, including former Heads of State, parliamentary speakers, and key policymakers from across the continent, reaffirming ECOWAS’s commitment to integration and regional progress.


Reflecting on his role representing Sierra Leone, Dr. Tunis added: “For me, nothing compares to the honor of representing Sierra Leone. Every time I stand for our beloved nation, I carry the strength of our people, the beauty of our land, and the hope of our future. May Allah bless Sierra Leone, guide our Leader His Excellency Julius Maada Bio, and guide us toward more greatness.”


Dr. Tunis’s recognition underscores Sierra Leone’s growing influence within ECOWAS and highlights the importance of committed leadership in advancing regional unity and development.
