Street Child of Sierra Leone (SCoSL) has initiated a comprehensive relief program, distributing NLe 6,490,800 in business grants to 3,606 caregivers across 10 districts. This nationwide initiative aims to empower families through small business development, ensuring they possess the financial means to sustain their children's education.

These funds are strategically directed toward thousands of families situated in the country's most remote regions.

The grants are complemented by professional business training to foster long-term financial stability rather than providing temporary relief.

Since its inception in Makeni in 2008, Street Child has expanded its operations to 24 countries, having issued over 51,000 grants globally.

Country Director Kelfala Kargbo emphasized that this initiative transcends financial assistance, focusing instead on providing parents with the autonomy required to secure their children's futures.

"This represents more than financial relief," Kargbo stated, highlighting the organization's evolution from supporting an initial group of 100 children to becoming a significant global advocate for education.

By addressing poverty at the household level, SCoSL ensures that children in underserved communities are not only enrolled in school but are also equipped to complete their education.
