Sheikh Alhaji Mohamed Omodu Kamara, a prominent All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer aspirant widely known as Jagaban, has formally called upon the citizens of Sierra Leone to transcend political fragmentation and prioritize national cohesion throughout the country's democratic processes.

During a recent interview, Kamara underscored that maintaining national stability must remain the primary objective, regardless of political discourse or varying partisan engagements.

“While our national identity is inherited, the preservation of peace, unity, and mutual respect is a choice we must collectively make,” he remarked.

He observed that while political affiliation remains a matter of personal conviction, it should never serve as a catalyst for hostility or social division among citizens who share a common heritage.

“Our birthplaces are beyond our control, yet we have full agency over our political conduct. We must ensure that diverse political paths do not lead to national discord. We are one nation, and the interests of Sierra Leone must remain paramount,” Jagaban asserted.

The APC aspirant further cautioned against escalating political tensions, advising the public to resist attempts by political entities to foster instability within local communities.

“Despite our different party memberships, our fundamental identity remains Sierra Leonean,” he noted, emphasizing the necessity of tolerance and peaceful coexistence.

Furthermore, he emphasized that political competition should be characterized by constructive, issue-based dialogue rather than adversarial conflict.

“No political organization justifies the erosion of our national unity,” he stated, urging citizens to remain vigilant against incitement and civil unrest.

Kamara also encouraged individuals to take proactive roles in fostering peace within their respective communities, noting that sustainable development is inextricably linked to cooperation and social harmony.

These remarks coincide with a period of heightened political activity, during which various national stakeholders have consistently advocated for calm, restraint, and respect among the supporters of competing political factions.

In his concluding statements, Jagaban urged the populace to remain committed to the overarching goal of national progress, reiterating that stability is the essential foundation for growth.

“We must not allow political differences to compromise our shared future. Through collective effort, we can build a more prosperous Sierra Leone,” he concluded.
