A national fuel crisis has brought the country to a near-standstill as gas stations across major cities and regional towns like Freetown and Kabala have abruptly halted sales. 

Despite reports of available stock, many station owners are suspected of hoarding fuel in anticipation of an official price hike, leading to massive queues and widespread frustration. 

This artificial shortage has triggered an immediate surge in transport fares, with bus, taxi, and "Okada" motorbike operators significantly increasing prices. 

The resulting price gouging has left thousands of commuters stranded and is severely impacting local economies, as affordable travel becomes increasingly inaccessible for the general public.
