The National Publicity Secretary of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Moses Mambu, has drawn a sharp comparison between the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) and United States President Donald Trump, describing the party’s political approach as divisive and driven by strict loyalty.
Speaking during an interview on Liberty Online TV, Mambu alleged that the APC operates on a mindset in which individuals are either fully aligned with the party or regarded as opponents. He noted that such an approach compels people to take sides in the political landscape.
“The APC is like Donald Trump; it’s either you are for me or against me,” he said.
Mambu further claimed that the opposition party employs intimidation tactics against individuals it perceives as targets.
“When the APC wants you, they will give you a case,” he alleged, referring to what he described as a pattern of political pressure.
He also linked the party’s approach to its historical roots, stating that such political behavior dates back to the era of Siaka Stevens, the founding leader of the APC.
“The APC learned that pattern from Siaka Stevens,” Mambu added.
The remarks have since sparked discussions across political circles and on social media, with both supporters and critics reacting to the comparison and the allegations.
As of press time, the APC has not issued an official response to the claims.
