Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah of the Pademba Road Court No. 1 has formally committed three defendants—Goodluck Richard Nicol (16), Gerrald Tommy Tucker (16), and Bokarie Musa (19)—to the High Court to stand trial for the alleged murder of Nurse Valentina Bisodun Catherine Kamanda.
The defendants face multiple counts, including conspiracy to commit murder, murder, and the receipt of stolen property. Following an initial hearing, Magistrate Jah ruled that the evidence presented by the prosecution was sufficient to warrant a full trial at the superior court. Consequently, the accused have been remanded in custody pending their appearance before the High Court at Siaka Stevens Street.
The prosecution alleges that on February 8, 2026, at #5 Kamanda Drive, Adonkia, Goderich, the first and second defendants conspired with unidentified individuals to commit the murder of Ms. Kamanda.
In addition to the murder charge, the third defendant, Bokarie Musa, is accused of receiving several electronic items belonging to the deceased, including a Lenovo laptop, an Apple iPad, an iPhone, and three Samsung mobile devices.
During the proceedings, the charges were read and explained to the defendants, though no formal pleas were entered at this stage. Lead prosecutor C.S.P. Tommy B. Zizer, Esq., confirmed that the prosecution has concluded its evidence for the committal stage.
In his final ruling, Magistrate Jah emphasized that after a thorough examination of the case file, the legal threshold for committal had been met. The matter will now proceed to the High Court in Freetown for formal adjudication.
