Timbo Stresses Unity and Inclusivity as APC Eyes 2026 Elections

Hon. Osman Abdal Timbo, a 2028 presidential aspirant of the All People’s Congress (APC), has urged party members to maintain unity as the contest for leadership unfolds, emphasizing that competition among aspirants reflects a healthy democracy.

Speaking during a dialogue and fundraising event, Timbo noted that while 21 individuals have expressed interest in leading the party, there is no cause for division or discord. “Let nobody frown at that. This is democracy,” he said.

He stressed that the party’s primary responsibility is to bring members together and accept that small differences are natural. “If we have chosen APC as a vehicle to bring change, then we need to package the party so that when it takes power, it will move the country forward,” Timbo said.

Highlighting the importance of inclusivity, he urged leaders to engage senior figures, women, youth, and persons with disabilities to strengthen APC’s national appeal. Timbo also cautioned against treating rivalry with the ruling SLPP as inherent enmity, noting that such divisions have contributed to the nation’s current challenges.

He concluded that demonstrating unity among APC members will inspire confidence among supporters and reinforce the party’s readiness to govern effectively in the 2026 elections.
