Two Arrested With Over 800 Wraps of Suspected Kush in Aberdeen

The Sierra Leone Police have arrested two people and recovered substances suspected to be Kush during an intelligence-led operation in Aberdeen, Freetown.

The operation was conducted on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2026, by officers of the Aberdeen Police Division following intelligence about a makeshift structure behind Kabba Garage allegedly being used to process and distribute suspected Kush. The operation was conducted under the guidance of Local Unit Commander CSP Mrs. Zainab M’balu Cline Thomas.

Police arrested Mohamed Sheku Kamara and his fiancée, Isata Kamara, both residents of Back of Kabba Garage, Aberdeen.

According to police, officers recovered 645 pink wraps and 203 blue wraps of suspected Kush, along with 10 sachets of the suspected narcotic. They also seized two pairs of scissors, a weighing scale, a blender, rolling papers and a quantity of Gold Seal cigarettes.

Following the operation, the two suspects, together with the recovered substances and other items, were transferred to the Transnational Organised Crime Unit (TOCU) for further investigation.

The Sierra Leone Police said the arrests form part of ongoing efforts to disrupt the processing, distribution and sale of illicit drugs. The police also urged the public to provide timely and credible information to support intelligence-led operations against drug-related and organised criminal activities.

The suspects remain under investigation as police work to establish the circumstances surrounding the substances and other items recovered during the operation.
