Alie Sumah Wins APC Port Loko District Chairperson Race

Alie Sumah has won the All People’s Congress (APC) Port Loko District Chairperson race after securing 71 votes in the party’s October 2026 internal elections.

Sumah defeated three other contenders, with Mohamed Gbondo finishing second with 66 votes, five votes behind the winner.

Abdul Karim Kamara received 45 votes, while Abdel Karim Dandas secured 27 votes in the contest for the district chairperson position.

The results place Sumah at the head of the APC’s Port Loko District leadership following a competitive contest among the four candidates.

Meanwhile, rapper and politician Natasha Beckley lost her bid for the district’s Deputy Chairperson position. In a Facebook post following the election, she thanked the delegates who supported her and said she would return to thank them personally.

“All hope is not lost. Our journey continues,” Beckley wrote, signalling her intention to remain active in her political journey.

The internal elections form part of the APC’s process of selecting its district-level leadership.
