Sports journalist Hawa Dauda has raised serious allegations regarding the dismissal of Leone Stars head coach Mohamed Kallon by the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA). Dauda claims the termination followed the submission of an invalid coaching license and participation in an illegitimate refresher course. Furthermore, she asserted that the documentation provided by Kallon was formally rejected by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

While the SLFA has officially confirmed the termination of Kallon's contract, the governing body has yet to provide a public statement detailing the specific grounds for this decision.

In addition to the licensing claims, reports suggest a pattern of professional non-compliance. According to investigative findings and social media accounts, Kallon reportedly declined to participate in mandatory FIFA-sanctioned pre-match and post-match press conferences, most notably during an international friendly against Azerbaijan.

Despite direct interventions from FIFA representatives and senior SLFA officials—including the Head of Delegation, the Vice President II, and the Leone Stars Team Manager—compliance was reportedly not achieved. It is further understood that personal appeals from his brother, Musa Kallon, were also unsuccessful in resolving the impasse.

This series of incidents has reportedly drawn the attention of FIFA, leading to concerns regarding potential disciplinary measures against the Sierra Leonean national federation.

The development has sparked significant debate among football stakeholders and the general public, with many calling for increased transparency from the SLFA regarding the circumstances of the dismissal.

The SLFA has formally acknowledged Kallon’s contributions during his tenure and offered its best wishes for his future professional pursuits.

At present, the football governing body has declined to comment on the specific allegations, and the internal review of the circumstances surrounding the dismissal remains ongoing.
