APC Formally Confirms End to Parliamentary Boycott

Honorable Ibrahim Barrie, a Member of Parliament representing the All People’s Congress (APC), has formally confirmed the party’s intention to resume its parliamentary functions. This decision follows a series of high-level engagements with the government, facilitated by international moral guarantors.

During an interview with Epic Radio, Honorable Barrie stated that the party’s strategic boycott of governance processes successfully fulfilled its primary objectives. He characterized the conclusions of recent discussions as a significant milestone in the nation's political landscape.

The APC leadership is expected to release an official communique shortly, providing formal instructions for all elected party officials to conclude their boycott and reintegrate into their respective governance roles.

Honorable Barrie further noted that this development signifies a critical shift in the party’s diplomatic strategy, ending a prolonged political impasse and paving the way for renewed participation in the legislative process.

These developments follow a recent appeal from international stakeholders—including the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS), and the Commonwealth—urging the opposition to resume participation to ensure political stability in Sierra Leone.
