First Lady Fatima Maada Bio has been named among the 100 Most Influential Women in Africa for 2025, earning continental recognition for her contributions to public service and advocacy for women and girls.
In a statement acknowledging the honor, First Lady Bio described the recognition as “a profound honor” and expressed gratitude to the people of Sierra Leone and her supporters. “Truly, it is only by the grace of Allah and the unwavering support of the people of Mama Salone that this is possible,” she said.
She added that the recognition strengthens her commitment to her ongoing initiatives, noting: “I receive this recognition with humility, renewed purpose, and a deepened commitment to continue serving women, girls, and humanity at large.”
First Lady Bio has been a leading advocate for gender equality, girls’ education, and the protection of women’s rights in Sierra Leone and across Africa. Her inclusion in the 2025 Avance Media list of the 100 Most Influential African Women places her among a distinguished group of women recognized for leadership, advocacy, and impact in public life.
