Peace Ambassador’s Inauguration Postponed Until Further Notice

The inauguration of Sierra Leone’s Peace Ambassador, Abubakarr Sidique Turay, popularly known as Shady Baby, has been postponed until further notice, while the planned Peace and Unity JAMBODY will proceed as scheduled on Tuesday, 27 October 2026.

In an official press release, the management team of Shady Baby and the Office of the Peace Ambassador announced that the inauguration, originally scheduled for Tuesday, would no longer take place on the planned date. The team said a new date would be announced through official channels once arrangements had been finalised.

The management expressed regret over the postponement and apologised to invited guests, supporters, partners and members of the public for any inconvenience caused.

Despite the postponement, the Peace and Unity JAMBODY is scheduled to take place at 7:00 p.m. at Bintumani in Freetown. Admission to the event will be free and open to the public.

According to the statement, the JAMBODY will bring people together for an evening of music and celebration, with an emphasis on promoting peace, love and national unity.

The management team stressed that the postponement of the formal inauguration would not affect its broader commitment to promoting peace and unity in Sierra Leone.

“The inauguration may be postponed, but our mission for peace and unity continues,” the statement said.
