The Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) has officially issued a Certificate of Registration to the Humble African’s Development Party (HADP), marking its formal entry as a recognized political party in Sierra Leone.
The certification was granted on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the Commission’s conference room at Tower Hill, OAU Drive, Freetown. This followed the party’s successful fulfillment of all statutory and electoral requirements in accordance with Section 22(3)(b) of the Political Parties Act No. 25 of 2022.
Speaking at the ceremony, PPRC Chairman Emmanuel Koivaya Amara, Esq., congratulated the former movement on achieving full political party status. He noted that political plurality strengthens democracy and encourages broader citizen participation in governance.
He cautioned the leadership of the newly registered party to operate strictly within the law and to promote their ideology through constructive political engagement rather than insults or hostility.
In response, the National Chief Coordinator of HADP, Michael Senessie, expressed appreciation to the PPRC for what he described as a transparent and professional registration process. He pledged the party’s full compliance with all electoral laws and regulations.
Senessie further stated that under the leadership of Abubakarr Alharazin, the Humble African’s Development Party aims to address political, social, and economic marginalisation across Sierra Leone.
Meanwhile, Chairman Amara issued a warning to existing but inactive political parties, announcing that the Commission will soon undertake a legal verification exercise to assess the status of all registered political entities.
He stated that any "dead" or inactive political parties failing to meet the required legal and operational standards will face deregistration in accordance with the law.
The PPRC stated that the move is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen political accountability and ensure that all political parties remain active, functional, and compliant with democratic requirements in Sierra Leone.
