SLPP PRO Mambu Says APC More Concerned with Removing President Bio Than Upholding Law

Moses Mambu, Public Relations Officer of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), has accused the All People’s Congress (APC) of prioritizing political interests over legal principles.

Speaking on Unity Broadcasting, Mambu claimed the APC’s recent actions are driven less by the law and more by a desire to remove President Julius Maada Bio.

“APC’s stance is not about the law; with them alone, they want President Bio out,” he said, highlighting what he described as the opposition party’s focus on political maneuvering rather than national interest.

The remarks come amid ongoing tensions between the ruling SLPP and the APC, particularly surrounding the appointment of Edmond Sylvester Alpha as Chief Electoral Commissioner of the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL), a move reportedly contested by the APC.

Mambu emphasized that the SLPP remains committed to upholding constitutional governance and the rule of law, while warning that attempts to politicize legal processes could undermine national stability.

The APC has not yet responded to Mambu’s claims.
