SLPP Publicity Secretary Claims Government Has Provided Record Support to Freetown Mayor

The Publicity Secretary of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Moses Mambu, has stated that the SLPP-led government has provided unprecedented support to Freetown Mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr, surpassing assistance given to any previous mayor.

Speaking in an interview with AYV, Mambu said the support reportedly amounting to millions of leones invested in the city council reflects the government’s commitment to partnership and effective governance.

“Our support for Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr has been greater than for any other mayor, with millions of leones invested in the current city council,” Mambu said.

He added that the government has maintained an open-door partnership policy, working closely with the mayor to ensure the smooth operation of the Freetown City Council.

Mambu further claimed that even previous mayors under the All People’s Congress (APC) did not receive a similar level of support from the central government, describing the current collaboration as unique.
