  • Basketball: Archibald Red Flames defeat Freetown Lakers 71: 64 to Claim WABA Basketball Final

    Red Flames basketball Club has defeated Freetown Lakers in the Western Area Basketball Association(WABA) Division One final at the Freetown Amusement Park. The symbolic match was a clear indication that Red Flames and Freetown Lakers Basketball Clubs are in great form at the moment and that intensified during the game final showdown. At the height of the Match , Red flames registered a flying start to the Western Area Basketball Association game 5 final as they captured several points from far out the Freetown Lakers area, with wide range shooting skills visibly demonstrated among many other things. Time out was called intermittently by both sides as the pressure and magnitude of the match were off the scale as they leveled on 32 points. Red Flames took the better of the final as the scoreboard went in their favour by claiming 71:64 points to colourfully kept the flames higher. In his response to the triumph, red flames Coach, Issa Fofana , lauded the impressive performance of his team and also commended Freetown Lakers for their brave show of courage and dedication all throughout the match. On the other hand, Freetown Lakers Coach Alex Sahr , perceived the match as a turning point for his upcoming team and added that the takeaways are enough to strengthen the team for Subsequent Competitions. The Competition provided exposure for players like Emmanuel Kamara of Freetown Lakers and Harun Sesay of Red Flames and that has prompted the Secretary General of WABA David Ngaujah to contemplate on the development strides the association should take to ensure growth of the game across the board. In days and weeks to come Red Flames would be officially crowned as Champions of the WABA Division one.

With the hopping, bopping beat and the feature of rapper Empress Pee, it makes you keep repeating unconsciously. 6. They both sing about the ends they’ll go to prove their feelings and how touched they are by how the other expresses their love towards them. With a danceable beat and the voice of both, the song is pleasing to the ear. 7. Daddy Rhymes album- https://youtu.be/bGNGc1WqHeU Daddy rhymes has released an album after a long hiatus and it is worth listening to. It is interesting how he remained true to his known sound without staying outdated . The whole album keeps you feeling good in a relaxed way to vibe or dance at will . All of the songs are good for a warm up or lull time at any event but only “come hold me” can be termed as banger level good. The instrumentals for the album is commendable and the beats on the whole album though very similar on most songs, is slightly different to not the album seem as one music. 8. He reminds of the problems of violence and its long lasting impact. He advises against allowing money to motivate one’s action to incite harm from themselves or others. He reminds us that love and unity can carry citizens through negative actions. With its reggae beats, it gets you to listen to the lyrics and vibe, allowing one to pay close attention to the message.   • Stadium Inauguration: Sierra Leone’s 6000 Seater Capacity Stadium Unveiled

    Thousands of Sierra Leoneans gathered on Sunday 21st May , 2023 for the inauguration of the 6000 seater southern arena in Bo. The unveiling was graced by key dignitaries in the Sporting sector as a way to mark a giant leap forward in the country's football development projections. The Southern arena unveiling had breathtaking performances from the entertainment Ambassador Kao Denero and team as part of his own contributions towards supporting the beautiful game of football. In his address as guest of honor, President Julius Maada Bio lauded the state-of-the-art infrastructure constructed by Babadi Kamara , and noted the impact the Southern arena would create in helping sporting enthusiasts to meet and exceed their aspirations in the game they cherished so well. The owner of the Southern arena, Babadi Kamara pointed out the essence of the arena which is a source of pride personally and nationally can help to restore its footballing image. In the inaugural match, hosts Bo Rangers played well but were unfortunate, as visitors East End Lions defeated Bo Rangers 1-0 after their new signing Ibrahim S. Conteh scored the only goal to earn the killers the prestigious trophy. East End Lions Chairman Junior Navo, commended the team for the historic win and as well as the massive work done by the Chairman of Bo Rangers Babadi Kamara in transforming the game wholeheartedly. Meanwhile, it is hoped that the collaboration would be replicated to see a turning point in the game.

  • Kings Empire gifted their Manager Prezo Koroma a Nissan Altima car

    Kings Empire, an entertainment outfit of leisure hotels and multimedia has gifted their Manager Ibrahim Koroma, known as Prezo Koroma with an Altima car, as a show of appreciation for his work with the business. The car was given to him to make his work easier, says his CEO Mak King. Prezo Koroma who was made manager last year had been with them since 2019, a year after their establishment and has been invaluable in bringing them to the limelight, especially with his connection to the entertainment scene. In working with them, he has helped with the collaboration and partnerships with known events such as the National Social Awards, Miss Curvy Sierra Leone, the Freetown Zonal festival and more, making them a significant player in the entertainment sector. Whilst Prezo Koroma was briefly incarcerated in 2022, his CEO Valentine Mak King had covered his legal fees and kept his salary running until he regained his freedom. According to Mak King, Prezo Koroma had shown himself to be committed and loyal to his business and these rewards, the latest of which is the Nissan car gifted to him are his way of expressing his gratitude to an employee turned family.

  • Feminist and Rights Champion Naffie Mustapha narrates how society’s lies almost crushed her future

    25-year-old Eunice Nafisatu Mustapha, a Feminist and Rights Activist has taken to social media to share how lies from stakeholders uttered directly to her almost ruined an opportunity of cementing her future. The young woman who has shared in the past her wins and aspirations before and whilst undertaking them, decided to share a moment of struggle. Miss Mustapha who graduated amongst the top of her class of Law students and was immediately offered an Internship at Marah and Associates in 2022, a top law firm, had been accepted to pursue her Masters at Georgetown University. However she was financially incapable of doing so. Miss Mustapha who is an Author of a book on challenges teenage girls face “Girlz Planete: Teenage Pregnancy”, a former Fourah Bay College student body Presidential candidate, magazine publisher, Founder of a rights group “Strong girls evolution” , two times recipient of the “50 most influential women” award, and a former Head Girl of the Annie Walsh Memorial School had struck out. She narrated how no one helped. She furthered that promises were heaped on themselves but no one fulfilled, despite all her connections. Miss Mustapha revealed that she had to resort to a loan which only provided 5% to start her off on her Master’s journey. She mentioned that an added 10% of the fund was rallied by about eleven people to pursue her goal. She concluded with a message to young people to take charge of their story as she did hers to overcome society’s hurdles. She later shared that she has graduated and now holds a Masters of Laws in National and Global health from Georgetown University Law Centre.

    Thousands of Sierra Leoneans will gather on Sunday in Bo, for the opening of a 6000 seater stadium aimed at making the country's football's improvement a reality. The Southern arena is in the Second Capital City of Sierra Leone, Bo. President Julius Maada Bio will grace the inauguration of the Southern arena as a special guest, in recognition of his contribution towards the promotion of sport and the vision of seeing the National Team Leone Stars in a back to back Afcon appearance. The owner of the Southern arena,  Babadi Kamara had remarked that "it is a source of pride to have a stadium as beautiful as the Southern arena, needed to restore the country's good football image. In another development,  Bai Bureh Warriors and Kamboi Eagles will Commence the Southern arena Interregional tourney , at the Bo Mini Stadium today Friday 19th May 2023, whilst East End Lions face Wusum stars in the second Fixture and the eventual winner from the above fixtures would face host Bo Rangers on Sunday 21st May 2023 , to Mark the official opening ceremony of the southern arena. In the area of Security,  the head of safety and security at the FA, Mohamed Freeman conducted an induction training for stewards, in a bid to ensure security amidst the inauguration. Meanwhile, the Sierra Leone football association has lauded the timely intervention of the Chairman of Bo Rangers for restructuring and improving its standard to spice the development of the game in more ways than one.

  • Future Stars wins Sport for Sustainable Development Championship

    Football having become a viable tool for many social development programmes, especially rallying youths and fostering unity, Sport for sustainable development, an organization which seeks to promote and support the activities of young people through the awareness of the sustainable development goals set-out by the United nations for 2030, has commenced a three day festival for youngsters at the parade ground. The grand finale game was held at the parade grounds between Future Stars and Accrington football Clubs to the delight of spectators, ending goalless and making necessary spot kicks. The goalkeeper of future Stars helped the team all throughout the shoot-out , ensuring they emerged as Champions after the spot kicks ended 4-1 to earn them the Champions Trophy. According to the Co-founder of Sport for sustainable development Ibrahim Sesay , he was impressed with the style of football visibly demonstrated by Future stars and Accrington and added that the country is awash with raw talents who are ready to go places. Sport for sustainable development remains hopeful that with the constructive engagement of young people in football, especially in the fostering of competition and unity despite competition, the mentality of youths would be positively enhanced before, during and after the June 24th general elections.

  • Football: Kamboi Eagles club part ways with Coach Alimu Koroma

    Kamboi Eagles football Club has in a press release dated 17th May , 2023 , informed the public of the sacking of their former Coach Alimu Koroma otherwise known as System. Alimu Koroma had replaced Francis Zappa' Koroma in October of 2022 , to improve the team and create winning opportunities for them. The release by the team went on to state that the club is grateful to Coach Alimu Koroma for his efforts during his time with the Club. According to the report, the arrival of Alimu Koroma at Kamboi Eagles had spelled doom for the team and the 2-1 defeat at home against Old Edwardians created massive problems for the Coaching System, after his predecessor Francis Koroma defeated him in front of the Kamboi Eagles spectators. Meanwhile, Assistant Coach Sheriff will serve as an acting Coach until a new Coach can be decided upon.

The contents to be promoted will surround elections awareness, targeting information distortion, particularly fake news and malinformation and will be for and up til the multi-tier election of June 24th, 2023. Selfie announced the signing via his platform, remarking how privileged he feels on being recognized for his work. His Colleague Comedian Sosar was also partnered with to perform similar roles.
